Knockout is the classic tournament format for darts that sees winners of each tie advance and losers knocked out. The Match Play World software enables results to be entered, reports to be submitted and details of the time and boards to be used for the game.
If required a darts plate tournament can be created with first round losers, which then operates in the same way as a knockout event.
Alternatively the unique Matrix format ensures that every player plays every round, but that the winner is still the last person standing on the oche undefeated. The Match Play Matrix is ideal for events were competitors have to travel long distances or you want to keep everyone involved throughout the tournament.
The Matrix also avoids the issues with using Group Stages, as it means that everyone plays the same number of games and that there are no repeat fixtures.
Using this format, players quickly and easily find their level more quickly, which leads to more equal games for developing players and more enjoyable games for spectators.
The tie breaker for scoring could be legs or sets. Whichever is chosen as the scoring unit is added together from each match to create the Score Difference for each player. Players are then ranked first by wins and then by Score Difference.
