As a European he does not play as much team match play formats as the USA who have the Presidents Cup as well as the Ryder Cup. That said his foursomes records is as good as his impressive singles record and his fourball record is positive too. As a former winner of the WGC Match Play he is a formidable match play golfer and one of the few multiple major champions who also has a high match play ranking.

Rory has played in 7 Ryder Cups since 2010 to 2018 and has been on the winning side seven times to date. Within this his four-ball record is 0.500 from 6 games and 0.607 from 7 foursomes games.
As that makes up 79% of all the matches Rory has played in the Ryder Cup, his good singles record of 0.643 from 7 games matches his overall career record.

Rory’s only amateur appearance was in the 2007 Walker Cup at Royal County Down where he won his singles match against Billy Horschel, but the USA team managed to edge out GB&I by a point.
