How To Create A Match Play Event

To create a match play event on Match Play World simply login to your account and click get started. The Event Details form should be self-explanatory, but here are a few notes. 

Fields without an asterisk are optional and can be completed later by clicking on the Details tab of the event.

Event Name: This is the name of the event that will be displayed on the page and in emails

Sport: Choose the type of sport you are running an event for. If it is not listed please select ‘Other’ and Contact Us and we will add it into list.

Format: Select format of event

Draw Format: Choose from the type of match play event that you would like to run. For more information click the questions mark next to each format type.

Draw Size: This is number of players in the draw. For Matrix events this is fixed. For Match Play events it can be any number up to 512.

Hold Each Round: Tick this box if you want to wait for all matches in a round to be completed before the next round is shown. If unticked then the following rounds will populate as and when match results are entered.

Start and End DateEnter the start date and end date of the event.

Location: This is the default location for all matches in the draw which will be displayed below each match. If you do not have one then you can leave it blank. If the event organiser wishes to put different locations in for each match then this can be done when the draw is created by editing each match individually.

Update Event: Click the Update Event button to save your changes.
