Ben Hogan’s overall match play rating puts him at the top of men golfers who have played 20 games or more. Due to his accident he did not play as much as other but when he did he won over 4 games of every 5 played over his career.

Ben Hogan Ryder Cup Record

Played: 3 (W3 L0), Points: 3, Points Per Match: 1.000

Walter Hagen was playing captain 1947 and non-playing Captain in 1951 and 1967 winning on each occassion. He only played in three matches, one as captain in 1947 and two as a player in 1951, when the USA also won under Sam Snead’s leadership.

He played one singles match in 1951 and two foursomes matches in 1947 and 1951, winning them all for a perfect Ryder Cup record.

Played: 27 (W22, L5), Points: 22, Points Per Match: 0.815

Ben Hogan won the USPGA twice in 3 years in 1946 and 1948, with a first round loss to Toney Penna in 1947. Second only to Byron Nelson and Walter Burkemo for those who played more than 20 games, Hogan’s USPGA match play record is exceptional.

In just two foursomes matches, Hogan was undefeated playing with Jimmy Demaret in the 1947 and 1951 Ryder Cups.
